There is a lot to consider when you are about to travel, where are
you going and the climate? How are you going and for how long? But the
essential things that you definitely need to have no matter what or where you
are going are going to be listed below.

- Toiletries
Having a bag full of toiletries can be extremely helpful even if you are staying in a hotel. It is important for to have your own products. In a different place, you might discover that you body reacts a certain way to the use of something that it is not (familiar/ used to). You don’t want to go to a hotel and discover what you are allergic to or get a random rash because you are not used to their products. As an example, let’s say you move to a place and there is no time for you to got out shopping that same day or even that week, you would not so bothered about it because you have all the toiletries you need for that night.

These include;
- Toothbrush and toothpaste
- Soap and soap dish
- Tissue paper and wipes
- A sponge
- Extra money
Now I am not saying you need to sneak money into a place, no and I
am not telling you to bring lots of money, no. Pack an amount of money that can
be used to sustain yourself in cases of emergency like emergency money. Take a
small container or a small purse, maybe even a drawstring bag put the amount of
money you think that you will need it and keep it somewhere safe. Don’t think
too much about it, it is only for emergencies like you lose your bag or have
your purse stolen. The purpose is to not get stranded anywhere.
- GPS, Power source and phone cable
Before, during and after your trip having a source of power, your phone might run out of battery, especially if you have been using it continuously. It’s not a lot idea to go anywhere without a GPS or informing people of where and when you are arriving. Imagine going somewhere and using your phone’s GPS and your battery runs out. What are you going to do then? Keeping a power source, maybe a power bank or wireless charger, even your laptop is pretty much a better plan than heading into the world because with no certainty can you tell if where you are headed has a good and steady power supply.
- Visa and Passport
Make photocopies of these documents and any other documents you are carrying, put the copies in a safe part of your travelling bag.
- First aid kit
Why would I need to carry a first aid kit, I am just going on a
short trip Well, whether short or long trip you need to have, Bandages, Hand
sanitizer, Disinfectant, well wipes too and a few others. The probability of
getting hurt on a trip isn’t high but it is not low either. It is better to be
prepared. If not for yourself then someone else who might be hurt and in need
of help.
- Cream and lotion
Like the first point I made earlier, your body might not adapt to where you are going to and you need your own products. Taking sunscreen, lotion and cream either for your face or body will be very helpful.
- Torchlight and padlock
These are essential and should be with you anytime you travel. You may opt out of carrying a padlock if you have a traveling bag that uses combinations or a bag that comes with a lock, whichever one you have will be helpful in securing your things.
- Shoes, Flip flops or sandals
Wearing shoes on a trip is probably advisable but carrying flip-flops or sandals could is also great. Having shoes on all the time won’t let your feet breathe. Around the house, room or generally when you are alone a slipper or just socks are much better.
- And other hygiene items
You never know what you
could pick up when you get to a new place, having and wearing a mask will help
prevent the risk of communicable diseases What you pack in your bag
depends on what you need. If you know you need anything during the trip put
those things like maybe a water bottle, snack, headphones or whatever in a bag
you can keep with you on your trip.
